Pitchfork Music Festival

In David's absence, I feel the need to post something Pavement-related. Stephen Malkmus is performing at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago. Also, GZA the Genius is performing the album, Liquid Swords all the way through. Finally, Sonic Youth is doing the same with their album, Daydream Nation.

GB: I'm getting the album in the mail tomorrow.

"Best" Music Festivals

MSN decided that they know something about music (they don't) and compiled a list of the world's "best" fests.
Here's their list:

1. Bumbershoot
2. Edinburgh International Festival
3. Essaouira Gnaoua and World Music Festival
4. Exit Music Festival
5. Fuji Rock Festival
6. Glastonbury
7. Monterey Jazz Festival
8. SÓNAR
9. Spoleto Festival

Seeing as how I know next to nothing about most of these, I can't judge the list except for the fact that Bumbershoot tops it which means the list can't be good even if some are decent.
Now for my usual Gogol Bordello connection: they've been confirmed for both Bumbershoot (along with Wu-Tang Clan and DeVotchKa) and Glastonbury.
